MyDirections provides you with careers information that is personal to you - that's matched to the subjects you like, the types of job you are interested in and the route you want to take after you leave school or college.

You need a username and password to use MyDirections. You get this from your school, college or careers adviser.

When you first log in, you'll be asked to select the subjects, sectors and routes that interest you. The website will then show you your own personal homepage, with articles related to your year group and the choices you have made. Each person who uses MyDirections sees a different homepage after they log in, because they will have selected different subjects, routes and sectors.

On your homepage you will also see sections called 'CV Builder', 'Careers Activities' and 'World of Work'. You may use these at school, but you can also use them at home too. When you do the activities in these sections, you will be asked to answer some questions and your answers will be saved to your MyDirections account. And if you use the CV Builder to create your CV, it will also be saved to your MyDirections account. So, when you log back in, your answers and your CV will still be there.

Information you can look at on MyDirections without logging in

Events
On the homepage, before you log in, you will see information about career-related events locally. These include open days at schools or colleges, university events, and large careers and apprenticeship events. This information is updated all the time, so make sure you check this page regularly.

Vacancies
Job and apprenticeship vacancies can also be seen without logging in. These are local vacancies, and mainly apprenticeships. New vacancies are added all the time. At some times of the year there will be more vacancies than other times - November to March is the time when you'll probably see the most vacancies on MyDirections.

Free articles
There are up to 11 articles on the homepage of MyDirections, that you can read without logging in. These articles change according to what might be happening around 'careers' at different times of the year. For example, in the autumn term, these articles will be about researching and applying for sixth form or college courses.
