C+K Chat

Chat provides support, advice and guidance for young people in Calderdale and Kirklees.

If you are a young person living in Calderdale or Kirklees and would like some help and support with your next steps, you can speak to a C+K careers adviser, Monday to Friday between 10am and 4pm via our Chat service.

The Chat team can provide support and advice on jobs, CVs, interviews, training, college, health, money, housing, apprenticeships, employability, family worries and more. 

There are lots of ways to contact the Chat service:

C+K careers advisers in schools, colleges and the community

C+K careers advisers are based in most schools and colleges in Calderdale and Kirklees. They also work with young people who are not in employment, education or training. Young people and their parents or carers can either contact the careers adviser at their school or college, or talk to a C+K adviser via our Chat service.

Advisers can help with:

  • choosing subjects in Year 8 or Year 9
  • exploring post-16 or post-18 options
  • applications to sixth form or college
  • applications for jobs and apprenticeships
  • writing a CV
  • information about different courses, careers and qualifications.

If you are a young person, or the parent or carer of a young person, living in Calderdale or Kirklees, you can contact C+K for careers information, advice and guidance.

Additionally, for parents and carers, we have a page on MyDirections which outlines a young person's options at key decision points and which includes information for parents and carers of young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
