Description

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with mechanical, electrical and software engineers to define requirements and contribute to test‑equipment designs, planning activities and system integration
  • Conducting mechanical design of parts, assemblies and systems using 2D and 3D CAD software packages
  • Reading, interpreting and developing test equipment schematics, diagrams, maintenance documentation and operating procedures
  • Procuring parts and assemblies from recognised suppliers, and supporting the safe management of suppliers and contractors while working on site
  • Diagnosing equipment and system faults and using problem solving to identify and drive corrective actions
  • Supporting operation of test facility infrastructure systems including fuel, compressed air, cooling water and the associated mechanical equipment 
  • Following safe systems and contributing to safety-improvement projects
