- A minimum of 2 A-Levels at grade B or above, which must include mathematics or further mathematics and one of the following - physics, biology, chemistry or engineering
- GCSE English and maths at grades 9-5
- 4 further GCSEs at grades 9-4

Description
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Working closely with mechanical, electrical and software engineers to define requirements and contribute to test‑equipment designs, planning activities and system integration
- Conducting mechanical design of parts, assemblies and systems using 2D and 3D CAD software packages
- Reading, interpreting and developing test equipment schematics, diagrams, maintenance documentation and operating procedures
- Procuring parts and assemblies from recognised suppliers, and supporting the safe management of suppliers and contractors while working on site
- Diagnosing equipment and system faults and using problem solving to identify and drive corrective actions
- Supporting operation of test facility infrastructure systems including fuel, compressed air, cooling water and the associated mechanical equipment
- Following safe systems and contributing to safety-improvement projects
